Virals Review

Tory Brennan, niece of acclaimed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (of the Bones novels and hit TV show), is the leader of a ragtag band of teenage "sci-philes" who live on a secluded island off the coast of South Carolina. When the group rescues a dog caged for medical testing on a nearby island, they are exposed to an experimental strain of canine parvovirus that changes their lives forever.

As the friends discover their heightened senses and animal-quick reflexes, they must combine their scientific curiosity with their newfound physical gifts to solve a cold-case murder that has suddenly become very hot if they can stay alive long enough to catch the killer's scent.

Fortunately, they are now more than friends they're a pack. They are Virals.

REVIEW:
And i present you the new Enid Blyton. Okay okay..maybe it's not Enid Blyton, but it's close! I mean it!

The book is mystery novel: a gang of kids which are really curious and clever, solving mysteries and murders, etc. Now, you see the Enid Blyton connection eh? I have to admit i didn't expect to found something like it but here we are.

The story is wonderful and clever. There is no magic and everything happens is related with science or biology. It's really fast, with lots of actions and running. There is a good mystery too, that you don't get from the very start its solution. I liked the way the story flowed with no hurry. Letting you live and get in the moment. I remember myself being even more anxious or afraid than the characters. You also get to see many pointviews which making it excited. Even when there is parts of the bad guys, it's so clever written than you don't get to know their plans.

If i disliked something, was sometimes the details. There were times i almost fall asleep from the pages of details on a subject. I guess the writer do the same at the Bones tv series (yes, the book is written by the writer of Bones) but it's totally different to watch something than to read about it. But the whole story was really good so i kept up with it and finish it in one day.

And at the end, i learned there is no other book to continue. Now, that's annoying. I wanted more:P It remind me when i was maniac with Blyton and was reading her books one after the other. And this one is like them, but in our years, with phones, internet, etc. Gives the "mystery for kids" a new meaning.

I definitely recommend this one. It will be a pleasant surprise for you.
