As part of BLB E-book Tours, we have one new interview with the author the fantasy novel, Marked, written by Kim Richardson. Plus, be sure to check back in the week for a giveaway with the same book! Learn more about Kim, and see how many common things you have with her! (clues: Harry Potter, Iron Fey Series fan, the smell of the books)

-Try to describe your book in one sentence.
It’s about a sixteen year-old girl who dies, and wakes up in a strange new world with a new career as a guardian angel.

-Your genre in Marked is Paranormal Fantasy right?. You did that on purpose, or you just start writing?
I just started writing. The idea of doing a story about guardians angels just popped into my head. I wasn’t thinking of particular genre.

-What inspired you to write, you took any ideas from other books, movies etc?
My love of books inspired me. And then it just took over.

-Did you do any research before start or during of the writing of the books?
Not really. Most of what I write is fantasy, so I make it up as I go.

-Which scenes were the hardest to write?
Adding romance in my scenes, and not making it corny

-How long has it taken you to write a book ?
Marked took about 6 months to write, and about 6 months to polish with my editor.

-What’s the best part of writing for you?
When the words just start to flow, as though magicked. When my fingers go nuts over the keyboard and I just write.

-Are you reading or writing something else at the moment?
Right now I’m working hard on finishing my second book, Elemental – that I hope will be finished in July.

-Did you have support at the beginning and/or during your writing?
Yes. My editor is a huge support. From the beginning of the first draft, till the polished finished book.

-Did you always had in mind to be a writer or it just happened?
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but I never felt I could do it. And then I did.

-How important you find the communication between you and your readers? Do you reply to their messages or read their reviews?
I read all of the reviews. The good and the bad. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think it’s important to know “why” they liked it or hated it. I try to keep an online presence with them.

-Are you working on any other projects except writing, right now?
I’m also working on a new series, and working on a screenplay for Marked, with an old colleague of mine.

-Something special you want to share with us?
I’m a cereal junky.

Now some simple questions and more fun^^

-Your favourite books and author?
His Dark Materials, Harry Potter series, Philip Pullman, J.K Rowling

-Your favourite band/singer?
Journey. Barbra Streisand

-Twitter or Facebook?
Facebook

-Favourite place in the world?
The beach near my house.

-Last movie you watched at the cinemas?
It’s been so long, I don’t remember!

-The last book you’ve read?

Iron King, Julie Kagawa

-Have you ever googled yourself?
Of course…many…many times.

-Writing, reading or hanging out with friends?
Reading.

-If you wouldn’t be a writer, what you would be?
A very sad lady.

-And last one....printed or ebooks?
Printed. I love the smell of books.
