Camelot, TV Series Review

The 10-episode epic drama, redefines the classic medieval tale of King Arthur with an exciting ensemble cast including Joseph Fiennes reimagining the iconic role of Merlin, Jamie Campbell Bower as the young and reckless Arthur, and Eva Green in her television debut as the darkly powerful Morgan. The character-driven series also features Tamsin Egerton (Guinevere), Claire Forlani (Igraine) and Peter Mooney (Kay).

REVIEW:
Well...i couldn't really say no to this one. From the trailer looks pretty awesome and i really liked the cast.

As a story had some things i couldn't get. All the Arthurian stories, are a bit messed up and there in not much accurate info anyway to know. But there are some things that i know, at least for Arthur and Guinevere. Neither me or Silvestro though, managed to understand how they came with their story in this one. Instead of Lancelot, there is a guy called Leontes who actually get married with Guinevere. Anyway, the whole series are before Arthur create the round table. It's his start basically around his relationship with Morgan and Guinevere.

The show has a lot of unnecessary sexual content. Something that really annoyed me. There we also times, that even a whole episode was Arthur-Guinevere instead of get to know more other characters or get more of what was going on with Camelot. Get those two things out, and you have a really good show with action, friendship, honor, war, treachery and a bit of magic.

As for the cast i'm fully satisfied with their job. J.Phienes gave a new look to Merlin as wizard. A younger, darker type. And there were times he was really creepy. Jamie Campbell was great as Arthur. Really king like but simple boy at the same time. Once again, he showed us what a great actor he is for his age. And Eva Green was fantastic! She WAS Morgan! Really amazing! The secondary cast did a really good job. Even if their parts were smaller, they did work well on their roles.

I was only disappointed with last episode, which gives you the idea there is more to come until a conclusion or something.
I recommend the series. There only 10 episodes of 50 mins, but they will end quickly either way.

Oh...and jeez you Jace fanatics! From the time, Campbell was picked as Jace i see comments like "wasn't he so Jace at the last episode?". No people. He wasn't. In fact, he was nothing like Jace. Don't destroy his job. Arthur had nothing in common with Jace. There were no similarities, so please stop creating false ideas on the other people about the great job they guy did with the character. Campbell need to be known as Arthur and his other roles too. Stop "Jace-ing" everything.

  3. Ugh, I was worried there'd be a bunch of irrelevant sex. I still want to see Camelot but, eh, it's a shame they had to go and do that.

  4. @Small: I think the story starts with 2 naked ppl. Can't remember exactly. LOL. Either way, it has some good parts and really great acting.
