Law & Order: Special Victims Unit : Series Review (Season 1-12)

About: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (often abbreviated to Law & Order: SVU) is an American police procedural television drama series set in New York City, where it is also primarily produced. Created and produced by Dick Wolf and airing on NBC, the series premiered on September 20, 1999 as the first spin-off of Wolf's successful crime drama, Law & Order. Having completed its 12th season, the series has produced 272 episodes to date.

"In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories."

Review: This is more a recommendation than a review, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is a series about two detectives and their team, who deal with sexually based crimes. Every episode is a unique story. The difference between SVU and the other crime dramas is firstly the fact that they deal with sex crimes and abductions and secondly that after the arrests, we see the trials of the criminals.

The leading actors, Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) are great at their roles. The whole team of the SVU department is great, John Munch (Richard Belzer) and Odafin Tutuola (Ice-T) make a great and funny team. The role of the ADA (Assistant District Attorney ) is not permanent, my favorite ADA's were Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March) and Casey Novak (Diane Neal).

To sum up I totally recommend this series to all of you that lik
e crime dramas, I have to warn you though that some episodes deal with very difficult and sensitive situations that may make you feel sad.
