Mini Movies Reviews: Radio Rebel & Puss In Boots

To everyone in her home town, Tara Adams (Debby Ryan) is just an ordinary high school junior, except for one thing … she has a secret identity. Truth is, she’s actually Radio Rebel, the most popular DJ in Seattle! In person, Tara is a nondescript, socially under-the-radar, teenager; but get her behind the mic and she becomes Radio Rebel, the coolest personality on the air! This unique status is desperately in need at the moment as her school is in the midst of a clique-crisis. Radio Rebel gives voice to all kids, popular and unpopular alike, and she publicly questions the status quo, which does not sit well with the principal who is determined to uncover Radio Rebel’s true identity. On top of all that, mean girl Stacy (Merritt Patterson, “Kyle XY”) is intent on coming between Tara and cute boy Gavin (Adam DiMarco, “The Haunting Hour”). As push comes to shove, Tara must decide between keeping her alter ego a secret, or being true to herself: a choice with major repercussions.

REVIEW
I'm a little disappointed with the Original Disney Channel Movies lately, so when i learned about this one i was pretty sure i wouldn't like it. Surprisingly, it was really really good! Kinda fell in love with it actually. For starters it's not about music or singing than most Disney shows and movies. It's a high school movie about a girl who is really really shy, and tries to make a difference with her private radio channel. The acting is actually pretty decent with new actors at most of the roles. It's not all about to win the boy but how to make a difference. Even the "mean" girls are not that mean, and in the end there is more on why they act how they act. It's funny and cute and long enough so you can enjoy it. If you are into that kind of movies, it totally worth your time.

Way before Puss ever met Shrek, our suave and furry feline hero goes on a swashbuckling ride, as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty and the street-savvy Kitty to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.

REVIEW:
So this movie is supposed to be about Puss in Boots, a character that really stands out in Shrek movies. So did the movie do him justice? Yes and no. Of course the animation is really good, there is no word on that. The story on the other hand wasn't that interesting. It wasn't boring, i was just expecting something more. It was too cliche i guess. Of course i loved the funny moments, and they actually kept Puss as a character, as we knew him from Shrek but the problem was the rest of the cast. It was below average and it didn't impress.
Either way, i watched the movie when i was at the ship with my brother and i can tell you kids will love it. I had a small company of them above me, watching the movie in "secret" and giggling even though they probably couldn't catch all the subtitles.
